Our Farm
Ockford Farm is a family-owned fruit farm of 34 acres, nestled in the heart of the East Sussex countryside. We grow popular varieties of apples, pears and cherries and distribute to the public and retailers around the UK.
We care about fruit farming and are working with educators to teach forgotten skills to young people who love working outdoors. To achieve this we have introduced our Rent a Tree initiative.
25% of the Rent a Tree income will support this enterprise. Getting closer to nature has never tasted so good!

Rent a Tree
Our ‘Rent an Apple Tree‘ and ‘Rent a Pear Tree’ gift options are now available for the 2020 growing season (March – October). By renting a tree you can take home the harvest and support good causes!
Choose one of our popular varieties of apples or pears as a bounteous gift for someone. Rent a Tree for yourself to enjoy your own fresh fruit all year long.
Each tree selected comes with a beautifully designed gift certificate which you can present to the lucky recipient. We also provide information for visiting and picking.
We manage the trees alongside our commercial trees to ensure they receive the care and attention they need for flowering and fruiting in 2020. We will contact you with the dates you can visit the orchard to admire the beautiful blossoms in March/April and the optimum dates for harvesting your apples.
How Does it Work?
If you have ever picked your own fruit you will remember the great feeling of satisfaction of tasting and enjoying fresh produce straight from the farm.
Renting one our apple or pear trees will give you that same feel-good factor of being able to visit your very own tree for the 2020 season and taking home the produce to enjoy, share and cook with.
Families tell us they really appreciate the outdoor time they can share at our farm. The children can run and explore, you can walk the dog and admire the changing seasons at the farm
We will let you know when we expect the blossoms to arrive. The apple blossom comes first, then the pear blossom, and this depends on the weather!
When it comes to harvest, we will let you know the dates when you can visit. These are specific dates when the farm machinery is not in use. Come and enjoy your tree on selected dates during March – October.
